How Many Cartons of Beer Do You Need for a Party?
By JohorBeer Team ·

Buying beer by the carton is the easiest way to supply a party. Here is a simple way to work out how much to order.
Step 1: Count the beer drinkers
Count only adult guests aged 21 and above who drink beer. Some guests will prefer whisky, wine or soft drinks.
Step 2: Cans per person
A common planning rule is about 2 cans per person for the first two hours, then 1 can per hour after that. A four-hour party works out to about 4 short cans (320ml) per beer drinker.
Step 3: Convert to cartons
Every beer carton has 24 cans. Divide the total number of cans by 24 and round up.
| Beer drinkers | 4-hour party (≈4 cans each) | Cartons |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | 80 cans | 4 cartons |
| 50 | 200 cans | 9 cartons |
| 100 | 400 cans | 17 cartons |
With long cans (490–500ml), you can order about one third fewer cartons.
Step 4: Mix it up
Most groups are happy with one popular lager — Tiger, Carlsberg or Heineken — plus a carton of stout such as Guinness for those who like it darker. Add a bottle of whisky or baijiu if you have guests who do not drink beer.
Step 5: Order early and save on delivery
Orders of RM1,000 and above are delivered free anywhere in Johor; below that, delivery is RM45. For weddings, company dinners and large events, send a wholesale enquiry a few days ahead so we can confirm stock.
Drink responsibly
Provide water, soft drinks and food, and arrange safe transport home. Never drink and drive.
